In 1973 the City of East Palestine adopted city-wide zoning. Currently we have business, industrial and residential zones. Building and zoning permits are required for any alteration, repair, demolition or building of any structure within the City. Increased residential development has prompted the City to adopt the Ohio Building Officials Association One, Two and Three Family Dwelling Code, the Ohio Plumbing Code and the National Electric Code for standard construction codes to insure quality residential construction.
Currently the City has two new subdivisions being developed with several smaller areas being filled with reasonably priced housing. The City's close proximity to Pittsburgh, Cleveland and Youngstown coupled with a small town atmosphere makes East Palestine an ideal place to locate.
Building
permits may be obtained in the Municipal Building at 144 North Market Street.
