MEETING SCHEDULE

VILLAGE COUNCIL

East Palestine Council meets on the second & fourth Monday of each month at 7 P.M. unless otherwise posted.  If a holiday falls on or near the second or fourth Monday of a month, the meeting MAY be rescheduled.  Any date or time changes will be posted on the Village web site and on the bulletin board located in the lobby of the Municipal Building at 144 North Market Street.  Dates and times of Special meetings will be posted.  The press is always notified of meeting changes or additions.

Council meetings are held in the Park Community Center, unless otherwise posted.

EAST PALESTINE MUNICIPAL CHARTER

SECTION 3.09 REGULAR COUNCIL MEETINGS.  Council shall meet at such times and places as may be prescribed by its ordinances, resolutions, rules, or by motion.  Regular meetings shall be held at least twice in each calendar month, except that during the months of June, July and August the Council may dispense with one (1) of its regular meetings each month.

SECTION 3.10 SPECIAL COUNCIL MEETINGS.  Special meetings of Council may be called in accordance with and as provided by its rules.

According to COUNCIL RULES, adopted on April 10, 2000, "Visitors wishing to speak on agenda items must present a letter requesting to speak to the Clerk by noon on the Friday prior to the regular Council meeting.  The letter should state the general subject to be discussed.  The Village Manager will review such requests before they will be added to the agenda.  In some instances, the Village Manager will refer the request to a department head to resolve the problem rather than place the item on the agenda.  Citizens should be made aware of the chain of command, realizing that not all problems need to be addressed at Council meetings."  A complete list of COUNCIL RULES is available in the Municipal Building at 144 North Market Street.
